General description:

The high-pressure homogenizer is a special equipment for the homogenization, refinement and high-pressure conveying of liquid materials.It is used for homogeneous emulsification of liquids (liquid-liquid or liquid-solid) with a viscosity lower than 0.2Pa.s and a temperature lower than 85 degrees Celsius. The device smashes particles and oil droplets in the liquid into small sizes through the comprehensive effects of pressure loss, expansion, explosion, shear and high-speed impact in the process of an adjustable flow-limiting gap, and at the same time establishes an ideal emulsion and dispersion. It integrates the functional principles of ultrasonic pulverizer, colloid mill, ball mill, jet machine and so on. Good product stability, consistency, easy absorption, nutrition, shelf life, taste, color and protection of the product can all be achieved in homogenization.

Working principle:

The high-pressure homogenizer relies on three repeatedly moving plungers to generate a great pressure. When the plunger moves backward, the lower valve of the feed is opened and the material is sucked in. When the plunger moves forward, the lower valve is closed and the upper valve is closed. The valve is pushed open, and the material is pressed into the area of the high-pressure homogenization valve, homogenized and emulsified through the first and second homogenization valves, and the material is discharged from the discharge port.

Tips for Using:

The homogenizers should not be used if your sample contains too much particulate or solid matter, as this could clog the openings in the valves. Be sure to clean the unit thoroughly after each use, both to prevent cross-contamination and to clean any particulate away from the valves. Failure to do so will result in higher operating pressures which may decrease instrument life and / or decrease the efficiency of homogenization.

If one pass does not provide satisfactory homogenization, you can run the sample through the homogenizer multiple times. Some homogenizers have configurations allowing for recycling of the effluent for easy multiple-pass homogenization.
